“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom…” — Colossians 3:16
Explanation: The Bible is very important for us to read and know. We should read it everyday and try to follow it. We should know it so well that we have it inside of us!
Discussion: Why do you think it’s so important for us to read the Bible? (It’s what tells us what God wants us to do, and how we should live.)
Activity: Select a good number of of your children’s balls (bouncy balls, foam balls, etc…) and set up a basket for them to toss them in to. Have your children take turns throwing their balls into the basket. Start off far away, and then slowly bring the basket in closer. Ask your children which is easier, to get the balls in the basket when it’s close or when it’s far. Explain that the same is true for the Bible: the closer we are to it, the easier it is for us to follow it!
